Santa Clara (Ponta Delgada) : ウィキペディア英語版
Santa Clara (Ponta Delgada)

Santa Clara (Portuguese for Saint Claire) is a civil parish in the municipality of Ponta Delgada in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. The population in 2011 was 2,971,〔(Instituto Nacional de Estatística )〕 in an area of 2.24 km².〔(Eurostat )〕
==History==

The ecumenical parish of Santa Clara was created at the beginning of 1570, during the prelature of Bishop Gaspar de Faria, with its seat in the hermitage of its invocation (which already existed before the 1522 earthquake).
The road to transform Santa Clara from a small village into a civil parish began with Father Fernando ''“de Santa Clara”'', who ran a silent campaign in the middle of the 1950s.
In July 2002, it was de-annexed from a part of the civil parish of São José.
